Why Jenison

Uniquely Jenison

We know families have more options than ever for their children's education. At Jenison, we offer a balance of choice and flexibility with a high quality education that will prepare your child so that they are ready to compete on the field, ready to perform on the stage, ready to succeed in the classroom and so that ultimately they are ready for life after high school.

At Jenison, we’re raising up the next generation of leaders, and our students graduate ready to make a difference and shape the world they live in.

Relationships are at the heart of everything we do at Jenison, from our student body to our dedicated teaching team, to close partnerships with parents and the community—we recognize that when we collectively seek the best for each student we equip them with a roadmap to lifelong learning and opportunity.

It all starts in the classroom, where our world-class teachers, para-professionals, coaches, counselors, and administrators personally guide learning opportunities and personal growth for Jenison students. Ranked the highest-performing large district in the Grand Rapids metro area by The Fordham Institute and US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Jenison Public Schools set the standard for academic and fine arts excellence. But it doesn’t end there. We are a tight-knit community of students and educators who believe that when students are supported intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically they can discover the joy of lifelong learning.

Character Driven Culture

Unlocking a character-driven culture is core to our vision for students, staff, and the Jenison school community. Whether in preschool or 12th grade, our students must know how to treat each other with kindness and respect. Hear from some of our leadership team as we chat about about how we use the Wildcat Way to mentor students, model a character-driven culture, and tackle student discipline at Jenison Public Schools.
